Call out fee – $50
Swarm removal
The removal of a swarm (no comb/established hive) from buildings/trees. Option 1 – We remove/dispose of swarm from property – $50 call out fee. Option 2. We remove swarm and put into a box for the customer to keep – $50 call out fee, $50/hr + cost of products used. If you choose to keep the swarm, you’ll receive a 10% discount on your first purchase with us (excluding bundles).
Hive removal
removal of an unwanted established wooden or plastic hive from customer’s property – $50 call out fee + $50/hr.
Hive removal - Combs
removal of an established hive (combs) from inside a wall, under a floor, in a roof etc from a shed or house. $50 call out fee. Quote provided on a case by case basis depending on location and size of hive.
Wiring frames
replacing the wire or adding wire to your already assembled, clean frames – $2/frame.
Travel
a travel fee of $20 will be added for any call outs outside of Mareeba, Walkamin, Tolga, Atherton, Yungaburra, and Malanda.
Once off hive maintenance/overhaul
A thorough inspection of both the brood box and all supers. We’ll replace/replenish any frames, foundation, traps etc. as needed. Splits done if necessary (customer to keep unless otherwise organised). $50 call out fee + $100 for the first hive and $30/hive for extra hives + cost of products used to replace damaged/old goods.
Extracting
Removal of honey frames from super, honey extracted and strained into food grade buckets, stickies returned to customer if in good condition, frames cleaned and re-wired (if needed), if foundation is old. $50 call out fee + $50/hr. $15/bucket if we provide the buckets. Customer to keep 100% of honey, unless other arrangements are made. If we take a percentage of the honey, the overall cost will be reduced. This will be negotiated on a case by case basis.
Delivery
Delivery of bees and hives to your property. This is generally done after dark, once the bees are locked in and safe. Travel fee of $0.90/km from Lot 4 Dawson Road to specified address.
Cleaning frames
cleaning the frames of wax/propolis prior to waxing and/or wiring them. Quote to be given on a case by case basis, depending on the condition of the frames.
Regular hive maintenance
a thorough inspection of both brood box and all supers every 3 months. We’ll replace/replenish any frames, foundation, traps etc. as needed. Splits done if necessary (customer to keep, unless otherwise organised). $80 for the first hive and $20/hive for extra hives + cost of products used to replace damaged/old goods. More frequent inspections can be arranged if needed at a cost of $50/hive.
If the customer doesn’t want to keep the splits, we’ll take them and the overall cost will reduce by $50/split.
Extractor hire
4 day hire of our extractor kit so you can extract your own honey. The kit includes a manual 2 frame extractor, 20L food grade bucket with a nylon honey gate, capping tray, Z-style knife, punch roller, and double strainer. Equipment is to be returned in clean, working condition by 5pm on the 4th day. $50 deposit + $50 hire fee payable on collection of kit.
Waxing frames
embedding wax sheets into your already wired and cleaned frames. $1/frame to embed the wax + the cost of the wax sheet. Aussie wax – $3/sheet. Imported wax – $2/sheet.
Assisted hive inspection
We come and do an inspection with you – we talk you through the inspection, teaching and explaining as we go. We answer any questions you may have and outline any concerns you should keep an eye out for – $50 callout fee + $50/hr.
