Mission, Vision, Values
Know what’s important to us
did you know we weren’t always called bee’s Knees
How we started
In July 2023, Peter retired and sold the business to Emma and Glen Kraushaar, a young family living in Mareeba, North Queensland. Kraushaar’s built upon the established business infrastructure, continuing to serve the apiary industry, and expanding the enterprise with fresh enthusiasm and new product lines. The business was rebranded as Bee’s Knees Honey and Apiary Supplies in 2024, with a new logo and e-commerce website to facilitate online sales and support further afield.
Who we are now
Our Buzz-Worthy Mission
We got into beekeeping a few years ago and we quickly discovered what amazing little creatures bees are. We kept a couple of hives on our property and learnt everything we could about bees and beekeeping. We love checking on the girls and making sure they were tracking along nicely. We thoroughly enjoy the honey extraction process – our son particularly loves this part of the process. And we’ve experienced the devastation of losing our hives to disease. Through all of this, Peter at Tarzali Honey was an amazing source of knowledge and wisdom, which he happily shared with us. So when he put the business up for sale, we thought this might be a great opportunity to expand our horizons and ensure that local beekeepers still had access to affordable apiary supplies. Of course, having Tarzali Honey in Mareeba has led to all manner of confusion, so we decided to rebrand to Bee’s Knees Honey. Since we took over the business in July 2023, we’ve met so many wonderful people and learned so much more about bees and beekeeping. We can’t wait to expand the business and see where it takes us.
